Velocity Frequent Flyer guide
Virgin Australia · Velocity Points · Airline partner network
Velocity is Virgin Australia’s loyalty program. Velocity Points pay for rewards while Status Credits measure tier progress.
How it works
Velocity Frequent Flyer is Virgin Australia’s loyalty program. Velocity Points are redeemable points; Status Credits are separate and measure status.
Earning
Australian routes include eligible Virgin Australia and partner flights, direct Velocity cards, and bank-point transfers. Product eligibility depends on the Australian card and its current terms.
Using rewards
Search eligible Virgin Australia and partner rewards, then compare the points amount with all cash charges and the conditions of the chosen fare.
Partners
Virgin Australia has airline and non-airline partners. A cash seat or partner flight does not guarantee a reward seat or the same redemption rules.
Expiry
Since 12 October 2025, points generally expire at the end of the month 24 months after the latest Long Term Activity. Short Term Activity can extend an existing date by one month in the circumstances stated in the terms.
Before you book
Confirm the transfer ratio, transfer time and reward inventory before moving bank points. Transfers are normally irreversible.
