How it works
Cathay is the membership program; Asia Miles is its reward currency. Status Points are separate from miles used for rewards.
Earning
Earn with eligible Cathay and partner flights, eligible bank transfers and lifestyle partners. Eligible fare classes and bank products vary.
Using rewards
Redeem through Cathay for eligible airline awards and upgrades. Routing, cabin, distance and partner rules affect the required miles.
Partners
Cathay is in oneworld. Airline partnerships let you credit or redeem eligible flights, but miles are not freely interchangeable between every partner.
Expiry
Miles earned from 1 January 2020 use an activity-based system: qualifying earning or redemption extends validity by 18 months. Older miles and exceptions need separate checking.
Before you book
Check the actual miles debit or credit date and allow bank-transfer processing time. Partner award seats may differ from Cathay-operated availability.
